About the Studio

KC Music Studio was founded with a vision to create a space where music lovers of all ages and backgrounds can come together to learn, grow, and share their passion for music. While balancing the administrative aspects of private music teaching and the focus on long-term growth can be difficult for music teachers at times, this studio provides the opportunity for teachers to focus solely on the progress of their students while the studio handles everything else!
KC Music Studio was established by Kaytie Cook, a seasoned musician and educator with over 13 years of experience in the music industry. With a deep commitment to fostering creativity and excellence, Kaytie brought together a team of dedicated professionals who share her passion for music education.
KC Music Studio is designed with the student experience in mind. Our mission includes:
  • Inspiring Creativity: Encourage students to explore their talents and express themselves through music.
  • Cultivating Excellence: Provide expert instruction and resources to help students achieve their highest potential.
  • Fostering Community: Create a welcoming environment where students, parents, and instructors can connect and support one another.
Our instructors are not only accomplished musicians but also passionate educators. Each member of our team is dedicated to providing personalized, engaging, and supportive instruction tailored to the unique needs and goals of every student.

About the Owner

Kaytie Cook is an award-winning harpist, pianist, and talented music teacher. She has been playing the piano since she was four years old and began her study of the harp at age six. She received a bachelor’s degree in Harp Performance, under the tutelage of Dr. Nicole Brady, with a double major in Spanish Studies and a minor in Family Life at Brigham Young University.

Her interest in music began as a simple curiosity regarding such large instruments and quickly turned into a passion for performing and a desire to bless the lives of others through music. Kaytie has competed in the 2022 Lyon and Healy Awards, the 2021 International Harp Competition in Israel and was a prizewinner in the American Harp Society National Competition in 2017 before serving as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Bahía Blanca, Argentina for 18 months. She has been given the opportunity to perform throughout the United States, Canada, Argentina, Germany, the Czech Republic, Austria, and Italy. Kaytie not only has extensive experience competing with the harp but has also been the recipient of numerous first-place prizes for piano and voice competitions throughout Arizona.

She has frequently performed as the principal harpist in the Brigham Young University Philharmonic Orchestra, the Brigham Young University Chamber Orchestra, University of Toronto Symphony Orchestra, the Toronto Youth Symphony, the Phoenix Youth Symphony, and with various chamber and orchestral groups throughout Arizona, Utah, Europe, and Ontario, Canada. She discovered a deep passion for teaching early on, which led her to open up a private music studio.

Kaytie is passionate about helping both students and teachers alike to reach their full potential. KC Music Studio was born as a means for educating teachers, mentors, and students and helping them all become a little better every day. Kaytie currently lives in Provo, Utah with her husband, Austin, and their daughter, Sage, where she runs KC Music Studio, works full time as a Training Office Coordinator and is obtaining her master's degree in Communications.
